ST VINCENT’S Private Hospital Toowoomba is hoping to raise the $27,000 needed at this year’s golf day to buy a special Neonatal Resuscitation Machine for the hospital’s Special Care Nursery.

The annual West Star Motors Golf Day will be held on Friday, May 13.

The machine is used in the event of a baby requiring active resuscitation and intubation.

Having supported the golf day for 16 years, West Star Motors dealer principal Ted Edwards said he was pleased the funds would go toward such a worthwhile piece of medical equipment.

“This year’s event is once again gaining momentum with many businesses coming on board,” he said.

“It’s shaping up to be bigger and better than previous years,” he said.

St Vincent’s acting director of clinical services Paula McDonald said the gold day was one of the hospital’s major fundraisers for the year.

“Being on Friday the 13th we are hoping to see some teams even take their golfing to the next level by dressing up in theme for Black Friday,” she said.

“However it definitely won’t be considered an unlucky day.”

The four man ambrose will begin at 10.30am with a shot fun start at 11.30am at the Middle Ridge Golf Club.
