SIX patients have been evacuated from hospital after a severe storm battered a small southeast Queensland town with golf-ball sized hail.
THE storm left 3300 homes in Chinchilla and surrounding areas without power on Wednesday afternoon, while the local hospital was inundated with water and suffered broken windows.
“We identified that there was some extensive damage done to the hospital and the decision was made by the hospital and health service to evacuate the in-patients,” Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman Glen Maule said.
