The plight of the world’s 42 million obese and overweight children aged under five will be on the agenda at World Health Organisation talks in Ghana.
Leading Pacific doctor Colin Tukuitonga will chair the final WHO commission on ending childhood obesity this week.
“In the Pacific islands region, we’re raising the most obese generation in our history,” the Secretariat of the Pacific Community’s director-general said in a statement, adding he was looking forward to learning more about the perspective of African countries where in some parts hunger and obesity lived side-by-side.
