SELLING electronic cigarettes to anyone under the age of 18 in NSW is now illegal.
NEW legislation bans the sale of e-cigarettes and accessories to and on behalf of minors.
Health Minister Jillian Skinner says it will help address community concerns that e-cigarettes may act as a gateway to tobacco smoking for children. The law comes as the price of a packet of cigarettes increases by 12.5 per cent on Tuesday, according to British American Tobacco Australia. Changes to the display and advertising of e-cigarettes and accessories will come into effect in December to “allow for a public education campaign and for retailers to prepare for display requirements”.
