A NEW medical service means patients won’t have to sit in a stuffy waiting room or cough up expensive fees to see a doctor.
The online medical and prescriptions service, Doctors on Demand, allows people to have a real-time live consultation over the internet.
Frustrated with often inefficient and clunky barriers in the medical industry, directors John Martin and Steve Grehan developed a new online portal streamlining the medical process at a discounted fee without the fuss of going into the doctor. Patients can even get their scripts filled and sent to their home for as little as $25, a blessing for patients with regular medications.
“Our system allows patients to reorder repeat medication quickly and easily from the convenience of their smart phone, tablet or PC,” Mr Martin said.
“The patient just fills out a questionnaire on their condition and some other medical questions and if the prescribing doctor is satisfied, the script will be either sent to their local pharmacy or the medication can be delivered to their home.
“There is no making appointments, waiting in the waiting room or taking time off work – it is the most convenient way to order your medication.”
Mr Martin said the video conferencing function allowed time-poor patients and people in rural areas to get access to top medical care for $50.
With former Quickbeds owner Steve Grehan on board, the company says it’s well placed to capture the online medical sector with big plans for growth.
“We believe that Doctors on Demand will break down the current inefficient barriers in the medical industry leading to better health for Australians, and a more efficient business model for medical practices,” Mr Martin said.
