TASMANIA’S Mersey Community Hospital will get federal funding for another two years under an in-principle agreement the state and commonwealth governments have reached.
THE hospital in Tasmania’s northwest has been funded by the Commonwealth and operated by the state since 2007, but its previous financial agreement was due to expire in June.
Federal Health Minister Sussan Ley and her Tasmanian counterpart, Michael Ferguson, announced on Thursday they had reached a $148.5 million deal to continue the hospital’s operation.
