TREASURER Joe Hockey insists the scrapping of a proposed $5 co-payment for prescription medication won’t hit the budget bottom line.

THE government has conceded it can’t proceed with the measure, after Senate crossbenchers indicated they wouldn’t support it.

Treasurer Joe Hockey told the Seven Network on Friday the scrapped measure would not affect the budget bottom line because the health minister would have to find savings elsewhere.
