Practice Management software Medical Director accused of heavy-handedness and intimidation for staff lockout in pay dispute

IT IS absolutely unacceptable for a company to lock its employees out of their workplace.

Workers at the Bundaberg office of Medical Director are facing that intolerable situation after negotiations over pay soured.

The struggle between workers who want more pay and employers who want to keep a lid on expenses and remain viable is nothing new.

But to bring that to a head by locking staff out reeks of heavy-handedness and intimidation, regardless of the legality of such a move.

Staff say employing them as clerks means annual salaries as low as $24,000 a year.

But the company says they’d be earning a minimum of just under $40,000.

Medical Director must be absolutely kidding itself if it thinks these staff aren’t even worth $40,000, when they are providing technical expertise to general practices around the country.

An agreement must be reached for the sake of the company and the staff but that won’t be achieved until Medical Director starts showing that it cares.
