AID workers fear a mass outbreak of measles in cyclone-devastated Vanuatu.

Emergency supplies of vaccine have been rushed to the archipelago where tens of thousands of people have been left homeless in the wake of category five Cyclone Pam.

Only a third of the population has been immunised against measles and there was an outbreak of the potentially deadly disease in early March.

“Priority for vaccinations will be given to children in evacuation centres, with a schedule of administering the vaccines in the early evening when most people are there,” UNICEF Pacific spokeswoman Dr Karen Allen said.
