Stung by criticism of planned health system changes, the South Australian Government has made key revisions to its Transforming Health manifesto.

Under the revisions, Noarlunga Hospital’s emergency department in Adelaide’s southern suburbs will not be moved.

The Government earlier announced the services would shift to a nearby GP Plus clinic.

At Flinders Medical Centre, the other major public hospital in Adelaide’s south, level 6 neonatal services, will now remain at the current site instead of being shifted to the Adelaide Women’s and Children’s Hospital.

The Daw House Hospice at the Repatriation Hospital at Daw Park now will be relocated, with a location yet to be determined.

The initial plan had been for it to shift to Noarlunga Hospital.

Premier Jay Weatherill said the Government had taken a wide range of feedback on board.

“We took our Transforming Health proposals to the community, our health staff and industrial groups to hear their views and now we’re responding to that feedback,” he told a news conference.
