A MEASLES alert has been issued for Brisbane’s south after an infected person visited several cafes, hotels and Suncorp Stadium earlier this month.
The person, who has since been diagnosed with measles, was infectious when they went to restaurants at Coorparoo, Caxton St and Greenslopes.
On March 1 at lunchtime they went to Little Sista cafe in Coorparoo and on March 3 they went to the Jubilee Hotel in Fortitude Valley at night.
On March 5 they went to the Caxton Hotel, Hotel LA and the Bronco’s game at Suncorp Stadium.
They also went to Emporium in Fortitude Valley on March 8 and Kafe Me at Greenslopes Mall on March 9 on lunchtime.
Metro South Health public health physician Dr Karl Jarvinen said people needed to be on the lookout for measles symptoms including fever, cough, runny nose, red spotty rash and sore eyes.
If people were at these venues on the dates the infectious person was, and they are unsure if they have been vaccinated, they should see their GP.
Public health staff have been contacting people who were in direct contact with the ill person.
