Healthway chairwoman Rosanna Capolingua has resigned following a backlash from the ticket scandal which saw thousands in taxpayers’ money squandered on events.
Ms Capolingua said at a joint media announcement with WA Premier Colin Barnett on Tuesday she hoped Healthway would continue with a “a clean slate”.
“I will lead the way by standing up and stepping aside,” she said.
“It has been a difficult time.”
However, Ms Capolingua maintained she did not have any direct involvement in the ticketing scandal which had come to public light last week.
“In the 15 years I have been with Healthway I have been to a handful of events,” she said.
Mr Barnett said he met with Ms Capolingua yesterday and her decision to resign was mutually agreed on.
“We do not want to see the organisation damaged,” Mr Barnett said.
“It appears there is a need for further changes to the Healthway board.
“I hope the other members of the board will do the same.
