The Library of Alexandria in Egypt is building an Ebola library where we are collecting the best PowerPoint lectures on Ebola.  Over  2300 years ago the library was the center of multidisciplinary  global science and knowledge.  It has evolved one of the formost scientific centers on earth.  To defeat Ebola in Africa and the world, we too need to take a multidisciplinary approach with people in Global health sharing knowledge with those at the molecular level.  We therefore are constructing a Library of Alexandria Ebola library.  We hope that you can participate to make this the center of Ebola knowledge for the Library, Ebola,  the world and we scientists.

We have identified over 3000 faculty and scientists worldwide in many different disciplines who are linked with Ebola such as you.  We are bringing these to the Library of Alexandria Ebola Library to build a network of different disciplines.

The Ebola Library has begun.  We have outstanding lectures on Ebola. One of these by Musa Kana is a wonderful lecture from Nigeria which presents the African Perspective.  This lecture is a Just in Time lecture where within 3 days after the first case was diagnosed in the US, we had this lecture up and running with 13 different translations including Farsi, Arabic, Hebrew, Pashtu, Russian, Japanese, Chinese, Urdu Spanish and Korean. We also have over 250 lectures about Africa that have been developed by African Scientists.

You can visit the site at http://www.pitt.edu/~super1/ Ebola resources can be accessed via http://www.pitt.edu/~super1/ResearchMethods/Ebola.htm

In addition, we have  developed the Research Methods Library of Alexandria. This is the largest library of research methods, statistics information to help Ebola researchers in Global health. There are over 2000 lectures, free research methods books and information about research methods software. We would like to expand this to include research methods at the basic level, as most of our lectures focus on epidemiology and global health.

We would therefor like you to consider sharing some of your best powerpoint lectures about Ebola or infectious diseases.  This effort is modeled after out Library of Alexandria Supercourse which is a network of 50000 faculty where we have collected over 5800 PowerPoint lectures.  In the past 5 years our lectures have been seen by over 60,000,000 students. Sharing your PowerPoint lecture is simple, just send it to ronaldlaporte@gmail.com. Please write me if you have any questions

It is your lecture in the library, we do not request copyright. It is like a book in the Carnegie library. You can change your lecture or take it down at any point. We are like an art gallery where you, the artist get full credit.  Think about how many people saw your best lecture last year?  For the BA supercourse many lectures are seen by 100,000 people, with our H1N1 lecture seen by 50 million. Your lecture will get considerable exposure and help people world wide.
