A RECORD number of indigenous doctors will graduate from a Sydney university on Monday.
SIX indigenous doctors will leave the University of New South Wales with medical degrees.
Most of the group are the first in their families to attend university. Wiradjuri’s Murray Haar says the journey was tough but worthwhile. “(My fellow indigenous medical students) encouraged one another through some very tough and trying times and carried each other to the finish line,” he said. Mr Haar said he hoped to become a psychiatrist or pain medicine specialist in the Albury-Wodonga region in the state’s far south.
