PERSONAL trainers and managers of supplement stores have been arrested after detectives smashed an alleged steroids ring linked to the Lone Wolf bikie gang, uncovering 3000 steroid capsules and more than 100 bottles of steroids and human growth hormones.
Supplement stores in Arana Hills, Kawana, Mooloolaba, Morayfield and Browns Plains were raided, along with homes of personal trainers in Eight Mile Plains, Bundamba, Mudjimba, Elimah and Marsden.
The raids took place over the past 36 hours with Detectives from Taskforce Maxima and the Sunshine Coast Gangs Squad.
Detectives seized 114 bottles of steroids and human growth hormone, one tube of steroid gel and 3008 steroid capsules and tablets. Police also seized 6g of cocaine.
Detective Inspector Brendan Smith from Task Force Maxima said police would allege offenders were attempting to use legitimate businesses to disguise illegal activities.
Four people are facing 41 charges.
“Often these drugs are homemade or supplied without medical supervision which could have lasting impacts on the user’s health,” Detective Inspector Smith said.
He said further charges were expected.
