DOCTORS will visit 100 disadvantaged secondary schools every week if Labor wins the Victorian election.
THE plan would involve GPs attending schools one day a week and bulk billing students using their own Medicare cards.
Labor leader Daniel Andrews said the plan would make access to health care easier for families, particularly in regards to mental health. “Technically, a young adult could catch a bus and see a doctor by themselves. But that’s easier said than done. Care and advice on school grounds will make the process more approachable and address the problems earlier,” Mr Andrews said on Wednesday.
