A search has resumed for two BUPA senior executives who failed to return home from a bushwalk in the Blue Mountains at the weekend.
Chris Dalton, 57, of Chatswood, and 58-year-old Paul Bates, of Mosman, have not been seen since 6:30am Saturday, when they set out for a day-walk at Mount Wilson in New South Wales.
Dr Bates is the health insurance firm’s chief medical officer for Australia and New Zealand and Dr Dalton is a medical director.
A search began on Sunday involving officers from POLAIR, the police rescue unit as well as paramedics.
Sergeant Dave Rose from New South Wales Police Media said while there had been emergency staff in the area overnight, the search had resumed this morning.
“There was a fairly extensive search conducted yesterday,” he said
“I believe there has been a presence there overnight and that search will continue this morning.
The men’s car was found on a dirt track where it was believed they started their walk.
It was not known whether the pair had planned to stay on a designated walking track but they did not log the walk with National Parks NSW.
Police said the men had some experience with canyoning but they were unsure what equipment they had with them.
Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.
