GULLIBLE Senator Jacqui Lambie has enraged the Abbott Government for wasting the time of Australian Defence Force chiefs by raising “stupid’’ terror concerns cooked-up by a US spoof website.
National Report said this week ISIS terrorists were purposely infecting themselves with the Ebola virus to become “suicide bombers’’ when they travelled to Western countries.
The Palmer United Party Senator yesterday used the expensive and important Senate Estimates hearings – in which the nation’s top public servants are called to give evidence to Parliament – to ask Vice Chief of the Defence Force Vice Admiral Ray Griggs about his plans to counteract the supposed plot.

Senior members of the Government were furious about the questions they said were a waste of time and had the potential to spark additional fear about Ebola.
“She just looked stupid and should apologise. To do that to the heads of the Defence Force … if she just did her research she would know the article was a spoof,’’ one member said.
A spokesman for Defence Minister David Johnston told The Courier-Mail that Vice-Admiral Griggs made it clear that there was no evidence that militants were infecting themselves with Ebola to attack other countries.
Senator Lambie could not be contacted yesterday.
Meanwhile top health chiefs meeting in Sydney today are being urged to lobby the Abbott Government to impose mandatory quarantine for those returning from Ebola-affected countries.
Firebrand north Queensland MP Bob Katter had written to the chief health officers ahead of today’s meeting to urge more strict measures on medicos and others returning from Ebola-affected areas.
Mr Katter said he was urging state and territory chief health officers to advise the Government to immediately implement a 21-day mandatory quarantine period.
“We have the ridiculous situation where horses running in the Melbourne Cup are in isolated quarantine for two weeks but people coming back from Ebola-affected countries are not in isolated quarantine,’’ he said.
