The Victorian government has gone to ground over allegations Health Department staff have been using dirty tricks in their industrial negotiations with paramedics.

Health Minister David Davis is refusing to comment on a Health Department investigation into claims its chief industrial negotiator, Michael Felle, distributed a fake letter from a dissident group of paramedics to try to speed up a pay deal.

When asked about the details of the investigation and if it would be made public, a department spokesman would only say: “We take seriously any allegation made against our staff – particularly in the sensitive atmosphere of EBA negotiations – and will be reporting to the minister in due course.”

Mr Felle and Mr Davis have refused to comment further.
