The overwhelming majority of adult asthmatics believe they use their inhalers correctly but researchers estimated as many as nine out of 10 asthmatics are not doing it in the right way.
The research comes as a new online learning resource for health professionals to teach asthmatics correct inhaler technique was launched in Canberra on Thursday.
The free “unlocking asthma inhaler technique” online learning module was developed by Asthma Australia and NPS MedicineWise for pharmacists, nurses and other health professionals.
