Two mental health clinicians have resigned from their roles in south-east South Australia, just seven months in.

Country South SA Medicare Local says it is looking to replace them.

The two mental health nurse/counsellors began working in Mount Gambier in December last year.

At the time, the Medicare Local said it would allow an expansion of mental health services in the region.

The pair resigned at the end of last month to pursue other opportunities interstate.

Medicare Local chief executive Lincoln Size says it is trying to manage what it can in-house but has contacted other services to help out with clients.

He says it is advertising for two mental health workers in the region, including a child mental health liaison officer.
