A funding lifeline means the ACT Down Syndrome Association won’t have to close its doors after losing a sponsor.
Independent Property Group will provide $30,000 over the next two years, enabling the association to avoid having to operate from over kitchen benches and rely solely on volunteers.
Volunteer education and parent support co-ordinator Kelli Gowland said the association was thrilled to receive the new sponsorship.
’’It means we can keep providing the much-needed support to parents and members with Down syndrome for at least a while longer,’’ she said.
