A MAJOR revamp of Sydney’s Westmead hospital will get the green light in the NSW budget.
THE bill for the western Sydney health facility redevelopment is expected to top $1 billion but Tuesday’s budget will focus on stage one, which will cost around $400 million.
It includes the establishment of a new acute services building with extra operating theatres, more in-patient beds, a new emergency department and parking spaces, the government has confirmed. NSW Treasurer Andrew Constance and Health Minister Jillian Skinner are due to outline the plans on Sunday.
