We have been in negotiations with the Government over the last few days, thanks to your dedication and commitment.
Given the negotiations are still ongoing, we are currently unable to provide detailed information on their progress.
We recognise that we have been relatively silent over the last few days, and are mindful that such silence can breed uncertainty and restlessness.
We are highly vigilant of what has happened before, but we are also committed to achieving a fair and reasonable outcome – so we will continue to negotiate in good faith and see where that leads us.
The taskforce is absolutely united in achieving this goal and realise we represent the collective interests of thousands of senior doctors across the state in maintaining a quality and sustainable public health system.
The results of the latest negotiations will be discussed in detail at the Pineapple meeting this Wednesday 16th April at 7pm (venue to be confirmed), as well as our plan of action going forward.
We will continue to be cautiously optimistic but also remain fully prepared for whatever happens from these latest negotiations.
We will let you know of any important updates ASAP. An extension to the April 30 deadline is one of our top priorities.
