QUEENSLAND HEALTH GOES BACK TO THE DRAWING BOARD #smoqld #keepourdoctors
Following a week of intense discussion with Queensland Health, AMA Queensland and Federal AMA have welcomed the Health Minister’s intervention in our employment contract dispute – but there’s still a long way to go.
Queensland Health is now drafting potential solutions to our concerns, specifically around arbitrary dismissal, rostering, change of location, dispute resolution, no disadvantage, KPIs and unilateral amendments.
However, we maintain that these solutions must be underpinned by legislative change, so that they cannot be withdrawn at the stroke of a pen.
The new Queensland Health offer will be put to a meeting of SMOs at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre tomorrow evening.
Until then, our advice remains the same.
SMOs should not sign the individual contract in its current form, after taking into account your personal circumstances.
We are pleased to be making some headway, but significant improvements are not yet on the table and we will continue to advocate for a satisfactory resolution.
AMA Queensland and the Federal AMA have been working closely with unions, including ASMOF, in the talks with the Government and in keeping doctors informed of the latest deve
lopments. If you have questions about the contracts, please call our hotline – 1300 356 155.
