Health Minister now says everyone else got him all wrong! #qldpol #smoqld #keepourdoctors
“Today Lawrence Springborg as Health Minister has stated that he has had fruitful discussions with a variety of senior medical representatives.
“He, together with those representatives had six major points of conflict to resolve regarding hospital contracts.
“Member for Gaven, Dr Alex Douglas states that this comes after eight months of threats, false and misleading statements, bullying, deliberate lying, recruitment of political friendlies to align to his cause and engage in ideological warfare on a class enemy.
“At what point does anyone seriously say ‘we have had enough of lies and deceit from politicians. If the Health Minister and Premier can’t be truthful, then get someone who will’? Dr Alex Douglas asks.
“Doctors in Queensland, salaried, part-time, full-time, contracted or whoever is working in Queensland Health really deserve better and to date they have been intimidated, yet never offered any real look at what they have a very short deadline to sign onto.
“The risk for not signing is the need to find a new life and for patients, finding a new set of medical professional. It is a matter of urgency for their own lives.
“To have got to this point is an utter disgrace and reflects on the Campbell Newman government as a whole.
“To think so badly of the health system and the chaos they have already created tells me they believe the public deserve it!
“Moreover have we all become so complacent about the lies of politicians, in this case, the Health Minister, that this has become the expectation?” asks Dr Douglas.
“Today a doctor called me to say he rang the media advisor about the Minister’s press release to say it was not true. He said: ‘The officer laughed and said, so what? Boohoo!’
“To distort the truth or mislead in general, life might not kill someone. In health, it does – Salaried Senior Medical Officers deserve a better standard from politicians and under the LNP they consistently receive nothing but lies and deception.
“Will an honest contract ever come from such a dishonest group of politicians?”
