Doctors protest State Government’s “dodgy contracts” #qldpol #keepourdoctors
A CROWD of about 70 doctors rallied outside Nambour hospital during their lunch break to send the state government a clear message they won’t sign their contracts.
Anaesthetist Dr Alan Millard said the issue was threatening the health of patients on the Sunshine Coast with some doctors already resigning.
He called on Health Minister Lawrence Springborg to listen to doctors concerns about the “dodgy contracts”.
Three issues were highlighted – that the contract allow for dismissal without consultation, unclear Key Performance Indicators and working conditions can be “unilaterally altered”.
Every single medical officer present raised their hand in unanimous support of a commitment not to sign the contract.
