Allergy & Asthma Network Mothers of Asthmatics (AANMA), a leading patient education organization, is partnering with the Association of Asthma Educators (AAE) and the American Academy of Physician Assistants in Allergy, Asthma & Immunology (AAPA-AAI) as part of its endeavor to build the only multidisciplinary, patient-centered network of healthcare professionals focused on allergy and asthma care.
“Asthma educators and physician assistants offer a wealth of knowledge and expertise to help educate and advocate for patients with asthma and allergies,” says Tonya Winders, AANMA Chief Operating Officer. “We welcome the chance to work with these dedicated professionals who are on the front lines of asthma care, to share our resources with their patients and to champion quality health care.”
Since 1985, AANMA has supported patients and families with a wide range of publications, resources, community outreach programs and advocacy efforts. Partnering with AAE and AAPA-AAI will reinforce the importance of education as part of a comprehensive allergy or asthma management plan and endorse the essential roles played by trained asthma educators and physician assistants. In addition, AANMA will provide support on local and national advocacy and public policy issues.
